According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in their article “Engine Testing Regulations,” there are regulations for virtually every type of engine and because of this, manufacturers need to be aware of what regulations are relevant to their operations.
“To show compliance with these emission standards, engine manufacturers must follow test procedures specified in the Code of Federal Regulations,” the EPA said.
